his video is made up of a list of the signatories of an open letter compiled to support the demand that the Israeli ambassador to Ireland be expelled 'until such time as there is a complete end to Israel's war on Gaza and its continued slaughter of the Palestinian people.' The list is combined with Creative Commons footage from Gaza released onto the web by Al Jazeera. The Al Jazeera TV channel continues to update their Creative Commons page with more recent footage from Gaza.

It was projected onto the exterior of the Israeli embassy in Dublin on the evening of the 19th of January as a response to a 'PR attack' on Ireland by an Israeli Minister fresh over here from overseeing the slaughter in Gaza. Those involved in the collection of signatories, the action at the Israeli embassy, and the production of the video would appreciate any efforts made by others who support this action to spread this video through their blogs, websites and online social networks.

Canadian Farmworkers - "Humans or disposable tools" ? Unilever/Nestle

Canadian Supreme Court to Rule if Farmworkers are Human Beings… or 'Disposable Tools'

http://www.iuf.org/den5623

Human rights, including the right of workers to form trade unions, to strike and to bargain collectively with employers, are universal and indivisible rights which inhere in all human beings by virtue of their humanity. The Liberal Party government of the Canadian province of Ontario, however, is challenging this notion by calling on the Supreme Court of Canada to rule whether farmworkers are in fact human beings, or part-time, precarious humans who abandon their humanity when they are working. Federal Canadian legislation explicitly excludes agricultural workers.

In 1990, when Ontario was governed by the union-backed New Democratic Party, provincial legislation was adopted affirming agricultural workers' right to form unions. The law was replaced with a new ban on union organization in the sector when the provincial Tory party came to power in 1995. In 2001, the Supreme Court of Canada struck down this legislative exclusion, resulting in Ontario's 2002 "Agricultural Employees Protection Act"

Peace Walk Calls for Help

Peace Walk '09 is a delegation of activists and supporters who are walking from Sydney to Canberra for recognition of Indigenous Sovereignty, an end to the NT Intervention and an end to Australia’s involvement in the dangerous nuclear-fuel cycle. They have walked for 12 days and covered 200kms. They have 6 more days and 90kms to walk to complete their mission.

Indigenous Activist and walker Darren Bloomfield has issued the following appeal: "Due to circumstances beyond our control one of our support vehicles has to leave the peace walk on Thursday January 22 in Mount Fairy. We need a replacement to transport our gear and supplies to camp and meet us for water and meal breaks from Thursday night, Jan 22 in Mount Fairy to Sunday night, Jan 25 in North Canberra. We are appealing to our supporters and asking anyone with a vehicle, preferably a station wagon or like size vehicle, to join us for the last leg of Peace Walk 09. Even if you can only do one day, everything helps.

The severity of his injuries is that he suffered numerous blows to his head and body, receiving a large bump on his head, possibly a concussion, and numerous bruises. Also, one of his fingers is swollen and discolored and he has pain in his chest and ribcage. There was blood everywhere from his injuries.

Skat murdered in Moscow, shot to head by an assassin.

Russian Anarchist, "Skat" Baburova Assassinated Anastasia "Skat" Baburova, 30.11.1983-19.01.2009 http://news.infoshop.org/newspics/2009/nastya.jpg

Our friend and comrade Skat was murdered today in Moscow, shot to head by an assassin. Assassin was not after her - he was after advocate Stanislav Markelov, another good friend and comrade. We do not know who was there to kill Stas - it could be associates of some war criminals he put to prison, it could be connected to some corporate crimes, it could be Nazis, many of whom Stas put to prison as well. List of achievements of Stas is so long, that it will take a couple of days to gather all of them to a necrology - and list of his enemies is even longer. But we know for sure, that Nastya had a bad luck of being in a wrong place in wrong time.

Greek anarchists pay for senior's torched kiosk

Tuesday, January 20, 2009 Greek anarchists pay for senior's torched kiosk

THESSALONIKI, Greece - Two months after her kiosk was torched in local riots an elderly woman from Thessaloniki has received an unlikely cash gift from anarchists to rebuild her life, a press report said on Tuesday. "As anarchists, we felt we should support a fellow human victimized by blind violence," an organization calling itself Anarchist Initiative said in a statement sent to Eleftherotypia daily.

The anarchists set up a special bank account to support 74-year-old Harikleia Ananiadou and collected 13,000 euros ($18,000 US) for the cause. "We gave what we could, even beyond our means, because we know that it would be difficult for her to make a new start at her age," initiative member Panagiotis Papadopoulos told Angelioforos daily. "It was an act of solidarity to a woman who could be our mother," he added.

RAKON GETS A NEW PAINT JOB Today, at an Auckland protest against the invasion of Gaza and the contribution of the Rakon company to death and destruction around the globe, Catholic Worker Tyler Culpepper was arrested for an act of non-violent direct action. Tyler climbed onto the roof of Rakon's manufacturing facility and revealed the true nature of the Rakon company, using red paint to adjust the building's signage to say 'Rakon Kills', an accurate and unfortunate reality.

Operation Unpunished Lead AUTHOR: Eduardo GALEANO Translated by Supriyo Chatterjee

To justify itself, state terrorism manufactures terrorists: it sows hate and harvests alibis. Everything indicates that this slaughterhouse of Gaza, which according to its perpetrators is for finishing off the terrorists, will achieve boosting them.

*** Since 1948, the Palestinians live condemned to perpetual humiliation. They cannot even breathe without permission. They have lost their country, their land, their water, their freedom, everything of theirs. They do not even have the right to choose their governments. When they vote for those they should not, they are punished. Gaza is being punished. It turned into a mousetrap without exit since Hamas cleanly won the elections of 2006. Something similar happened in 1932 when the Communist Party triumphed in the elections of El Salvador. Drenched in blood, the Salvadorans atoned for their bad behaviour and since then have lived under military dictatorships. Democracy is a luxury which not everyone deserves.
