Tonight reporter Jonathan Maitland has been luckier then some, still having a well-paid job and lovely home. But dwindling assets has made him reassess how he would cope without costly pleasures and in this programme he takes up one of the most unusual assignments of his life – spending two weeks living ENTIRELY for free. The rules are simple: live two weeks away from home, spend not a single penny, no begging, borrowing or stealing. And bring only a few essential items. By the end of the programme, Jonathan has come a long way thanks to the kindness of strangers and some very wise advice. He’s gone from a scruffy, bearded man sleeping in a park and eating off the ground to a clean shaven, coiffed and well-dressed gent staying in house worth more than £1.5m. And all without spending a penny. But have the lessons learned really been enough to make Jonathan a changed man?
