Tuesday 10am December 16th went to Munro Street and met up with the cheerful fluro-safety vest wearing CLIMATE RESPONSE crew who were busily loading sandbags in front of Federal ALP* MP Kelvin "5%" Thompson's office at Munro Street Coburg.

( * ALP = Another Liberal Party; Note: K T is the local business man's friend especially if you were 'powerful' like Tony Mokbel for whom KT wrote references.)

Several people took photographs which should be forthcoming.

We held signs - like "5% WILL NOT STOP SEA LEVEL RISING" - for the traffic to see and leafletted passers by. Hence some gave us a toot, smile, thumbs up and a few stopped and encouraged us.

Two younger persons travelled up from Frankston for the event for which they were congratulated, I only walked from North Coburg.

The Federal police, who secure politicians offices, were friendly as we were quiet - not like Greece not making a revolution one officer joking told us . He also said approximate same numbers 20+ showed up at several pollies places like Martin Fergusons. So that was "officially" sounding like coordinated protest action to me & this seemed to cheer us all up more.

" BUMP ME INTO PARLIAMENT * " Wills Electorate MP Kelvin Thompson and minders rocked up about 10.30am and he spoke to those with questions for about 20 minutes. From what I heard "rubbery figures" spin about 5% but he did not flee from questioning so he is up for debate some time in future perhaps ?

Well done to FOE for getting several sites protested at same time so soon after the Government announcement in media yesterday Monday.

Locals like me went home and others travelled on to City and other appointments.

A suggestion for an ongoing local Moreland Climate action group was talked of between those of us from Brunswick, Coburg and Glenroy. Watch this space.

* Bump me into Parliament (tune Yankee Doodle)

Come listen all kind friends of mine

I want to move a motion

To make an Eldorado here

I've got a bonza notion

Chorus

Bump me into parliament

Bounce me any way at all

Bang me into parliament

On next election day

Some very wealthy friends I know

Declare I am most clever

While some can talk for an hour or so

Why I can talk for ever

I know the Arbitration Act

As a sailor knows his riggins

So if you want a small advance

I'll talk to Justice Higgins

I've read my bible ten times through

And Jesus justifies me

The man who does not vote for me

By Christ he crucifies me

Oh yes I am a Labor man

And believe in revolution

The quickest way to bring it on Is talking constitution

I think the worker and the boss

Should keep their present stations

So I will surely pass a bill '

Industrial Relations'

So bump them into parliament

Bounce them any way at all

Bung them into parliament

Don't let the Court decay
