Speak out against the powers of the ABCC in Perth on October 31st

"The laws they have at their disposal have no

place in a so called democratic society like

Australia and they use those laws freely to go

after ordinary workers
."

Noel Washington

Fellow worker, Noel Washington is under threat

of going to prison because he will not go before

a commission where he loses:

His right to not answer questions

His right to choose his lawyer

His right to discuss what happened

Noel along with over 50 other Australian Construction

Workers have been called to speak to the ABCC. The ABCC has powers unimaginable to most police offices including the right to force people to answer questions.

All workers who have been called in front of this Commission have been asked details of conversations and meetings with other workers. Noel is refusing to give information about a meeting of workers after work hours. He is refusing give this information as to this commission as it violates the basic human rights of the people who are interrogated by it. For this he faces 6 months in Prison.

Friday, October 31st

Speeches begin at 12.15

Outside the ABCC offices at 250 St. Georges Terrace, Perth
