Industrial Workers of the World

Jack O’Neill was a journalist and was secretary of the Fremantle Local for some months after its formation. In 1916 he was arrested with a dozen other fellow workers in the IWW and charged with being part of a conspiracy to commit sedition by bringing into conflict the classes of his sovereign lord the king. The state had failed to do its homework and the charges against him had to be dismissed.
